"Gebrannte Größe – Wege zur Backsteingotik" exhibition (Grilled greatness - Paths to brick Gothic)   

The Wismar exhibition is part of an exhibition by the federal state taking place in five locations covering different topics. In addition to Wismar, the other cities are Lübeck, Rostock, Stralsund and Greifswald. The Wismar part of the exhibition cycle is entitled: "Constructions of power" and takes place in the church tower of St. Marien at Marienkirchplatz.

Hanse Sail in Rostock and Warnemünde   

The Hanse Sail Rostock is the largest maritime event in the coastal state of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania. Around 200 major and traditional sailors meet here, along with around one million visitors. A colourful folk festival with interesting cultural and entertainment events awaits you. The focus is on the sailing ships, museum ships and old timers. The regattas by Warnemünde are particularly interesting for visitors and are an experience of pure wind and water for crews and occasional sailors.

Wismar Christmas Market

The largest market place in Mecklenburg, measuring one hectare, with its unique historic setting, becomes a Christmas paradise for the entire family. Typical Christmas products invite you to browse and buy, to linger and wander round.

Harbour Days of the Hanseatic city of Wismar        

The programme offers a colourful maritime pot pourri, a lot of fun and entertainment. Traditionally, major sailors moor up in the old harbour, while cruisers and regatta sailors, official and marine vehicles provide the appropriate backdrop. On land numerous attractions invite you to look, browse and linger. Dates: 8.6. - 10.6.2012

"BoulevART" international street theatre festival in Wismar

At the beginning of August, Wismar once again gains a theatrical note: Artists from all over the place meet in the Hanseatic city for the street theatre festival. The stages are the old city and the old harbour around the Lohberg. Dates: 27.7. - 29.7.2012

Schwedenfest (Sweden Festival) in the historic old city

Swedish feast, crab eating, jubilee fireworks, the Schwedenkopfregatta and the festival procession are only some of the highlights of the annual Schwedenfest in the Hanseatic city, which belonged to Sweden for over 250 years. Dates: 17.8. - 29.7.2012
